About
About Trust Catalyst
Trust Catalyst helps companies make critical decisions about how to protect their most valuable resource – their customer’s trust. We understand that the adoption of a successful data protection or security program is about selling a strategy to a larger audience. We speak the language business executives understand and quantify the need for security by helping establish the costs of lost customer trust and the disruption to business when that trust is broken. As more insidious attacks from cybercriminals specifically targeting organizations with customer’s sensitive data grows, we help businesses understand the threats, the costs of the threats and how to maintain trusted relationships with their customers.
About Kimberly Getgen, Founder and Principal of Trust Catalyst
Kimberly Getgen is founder of marketing research company Trust Catalyst and has over a decade of marketing experience in the high tech and information security industries. Kim understands the business challenges CIOs and CISOs of large global corporations face when it comes to selling their security strategies to the business. Her passion is helping enterprises build successful strategies to protect customer data with research materials and programs that help them articulate the value and costs of protecting customer trust. Working with technology leaders in the information security industry, Trust Catalyst creates thought leadership and trusted advisor programs that gives a voice to the need to protect this sensitive data.
Prior to starting Trust Catalyst, Kim co-founded Reconnex Corporation, a data leakage prevention company acquired by McAfee in 2008. As one of the pioneers in the data leakage prevention market, Kim watched it grow from an idea to a $500+ million dollar market serviced now by over a dozen different companies. Prior to Reconnex, Kim also worked at RSA Security and it was through these two experiences she learned first hand the struggles of articulating strategies to help protect customer data through the importance of quantifying the value of customer trust.
As a recognized subject matter expert on trust and security topics ranging from online fraud, identity theft and data protection to governance, risk and compliance strategies, Kim has appeared in print, TV and radio sharing her understanding of the security issues today’s global corporations face. She received her Masters degree from Oxford University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wake Forest University. Kim continues to work on her book, Trust Catalyst that describes how to harness the power of trust as a catalyst for business growth.
